In the beginning, there was yarn.....

I'm trying to keep up with the "times" as my daughters say- I'm starting my adventure in to the Blogosphere today!

Welcome to The Perpetual Knitter- the place I will chronicle my adventures in knitting, spinning, fiber animals, and life in general, most liely in that order...

My name is Kim Dravenstott, I live in a very small town in northeast Ohio. I share my yarn space with my husband of 26 years, Mike, 3 children- Kaillie, Hannah and Kurt, 7 dogs, 2 Jacob sheep, and one angora goat named Daryl. When I'm not knitting, I am a surgical nurse in a large hospital in Akron.

The goal of starting this blog is to chronicle my journey through my stash this year, while I attempt to get said stash under control! I have turned our house into the LYS Annex!! My husband is finishing a craft room for me, so it will be a great time to organize the stash, and get some projects finished. Welcome to the chaos!! I may even have some contests here with givaways from the stash (my husband votes YES on this option............), so come over and say hi. Please leave your blog addresses also- when I'm not knitting, I love to read about it. I need to build a blogroll! Besides, maybe your projects will inspire me to use something from that stash....

  1. Congratulations on your blog, Kim! And good luck on the de-stash .... yarn multiplies almost as fast as wire coat-hangers!

You can always make mitts, hats, comfort shawls/afghans .. there are so many charity links to give you ideas. Possibly the nurses at the hospital where you work can offer some suggestions - and let's not forget blankets for animal shelters.

And I go your way often to see my son in Pittsburgh as well. I will look forward to reading your posts and seeing your projects -- always inspiring to read/see what others are doing.
